Organisation catch-up and joining advanced, with substantial message-log, terminal, Chinese text and command-completion improvements.

New and improved

3 notes
  • More complete slash commands

The terminal gains the shared formatting commands, and slash-command suggestions include arguments and file paths for attachment commands.

  • Chinese text in PingFang

On Apple systems, Lowfire can draw Chinese characters from PingFang faces whose outlines were previously unreadable, while keeping its own text layout and drawing.

  • Rejoin conversations after a long absence

The account keeps a list of its conversations and lets eligible new member devices join automatically. Returning devices can rejoin after older server records expire, keeping their previous verified state until the new join succeeds; large groups can republish the information needed to rejoin.

Behind the scenes

  • Shared lists and simpler client internals

The interface gains a reusable list that builds only visible rows. Command descriptions are shared between the real and demonstration clients, and attachment code is split by responsibility.

  • More reliable terminal, server and interface tests

Checks compare the complete pasted draft, wait for restored state and membership admission, and observe the intended server replies and cleanup. The automation test also handles a client disappearing after a narrow-window capture.

  • Prove recovery after server retention expires

A real-client end-to-end test covers returning after older server records have expired, with the completed implementation and its limits recorded in the documentation.

Good things take care.

Lowfire is in development. These notes cover the project’s reviewed changes, grouped into plain-English topics. Pull requests are reviewed changes to the project; the counts also include maintenance and early direct commits. Internal coordination records are accounted for privately.

Designs and foundations are labelled as work in progress. Genuine screenshots show fictional demo content. Current reference captures do not recreate historical builds or imply earlier device availability.

Checked through . The latest day covers work reviewed through the pinned snapshot, not the whole calendar day. The notes were expanded on October 25 to cover the full reviewed history.
