Sharper screen sharing and safer setup after joining
Screen sharing sharpens text once a page stops scrolling. A pinned date no longer covers a message line, and acting quickly during setup no longer runs ahead of your account.
Fixed
- Pinned dates leave messages visible. When a date stays pinned at the top of the message log, it no longer covers a line of the message below it.
- Linux uses the right device names. On Linux, instructions say computer where they previously referred to a Mac.
- Safer setup immediately after joining. A second account creation waits for an unfinished registration, and a new conversation waits for the verified member list. Acting quickly during setup no longer runs ahead of the account being ready.
Under the hood 4 changes · tests, tools and the server
- More reliable Linux audio checks. The Linux audio fixtures now share a line reader that avoids reading past a line in their process connection.
- More precise server timing tests. Server checks now hold clocks, message delivery and alarms at the stages they intend to examine, and avoid unnecessary server-module loading.
- Less fragile end-to-end and native checks. The tests wait for the correct catch-up and process states, isolate native pacing timers, and keep each real-client screenshot in its own run.
- Build and continuous-check upkeep. Linux checks do less repeated setup work, compiler discovery follows the executable search path, and publication can recreate a missing Rust build cache.
